Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the KodeLab (“we”, “our”, or “the site”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit thekodelab.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.
Information We Collect
The KodeLab is a personal technical blog. We do not ask for or store account information, subscriptions, or personal profiles. The only information collected is what your browser automatically sends when you view a page, and what our third-party providers may collect on our behalf (see below).
This typically includes:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Browser type, operating system, and device information
- Referring URL and the pages you visit on the Site
- Date and time of your visit
Cookies and Similar Technologies
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser. The Site itself does not set first-party tracking cookies. However, third-party services we use may set cookies when you view pages on the Site. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Third-Party Services
Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google is a third-party vendor and may use cookies — including the DART cookie — to serve ads based on your visits to this Site and other sites on the Internet. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Site and other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. For more information on how Google uses cookies in advertising, see Google’s advertising policies.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (“GA4”) to understand how visitors use the Site. GA4
uses cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to collect anonymized information about
your interactions — for example, which pages are viewed and how long visitors
stay. This data helps us improve content and usability.
You can prevent GA4 from collecting data about your visits by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cloudflare
The Site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and served through Cloudflare’s
global CDN. As a result, Cloudflare processes every request to the Site for
delivery, caching, and security. Cloudflare may set a __cf_bm cookie for bot
management; this cookie does not store personally identifying information.
We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free. It measures aggregate traffic metrics (page views, countries, referrers) based only on HTTP request data and does not track individual visitors across sessions or sites.
For details, see Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
Your Choices and Opt-Out
You have several ways to control how your data is used by the services above:
- Google personalized ads — manage or disable via Google Ads Settings
- Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out — visit aboutads.info/choices
- European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out (EEA/UK) — visit youronlinechoices.eu
- Google Analytics opt-out — install the browser add-on
- Browser-level cookie controls — most browsers let you block or delete cookies entirely through their privacy settings
Blocking cookies may affect how some parts of the Site display ads or load external resources, but core content will remain accessible.
Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us via a third-party service, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to remove it.
International Users
The Site is operated from Taiwan and relies on infrastructure located around the world (via Cloudflare’s global network). If you access the Site from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your own jurisdiction.
If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be announced on the site. Continued use of the Site after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
